Blippar launches indoor visual positioning program to anchor AR

If increased reality (AR) is going to offer a dependable overlay for physical reality, it requires to be anchored into place.

In many cases, GPS positioning is utilized to tether a Poké friday object or whatever to a specific physical spot. But GPS placing can be off by several metres, and indoor reception makes it a good iffy proposition for retailers.

Now, AR/computer vision company Blippar is out with an indoor edition of its urban visual positioning, providing what it says is a more dependable tether for AR than various other indoor systems. The company, based in Nyc and London, says it is the 1st to provide “ an easy and end-to-end solution” to the problem of anchoring AR.
