Identity management platform Janrain has gone out Wednesday with its new Identity Main platform, which it says will be the first such end-to-end cloud-based option.

Identity Main is all-hosted. Prior to, CEO Jim Kaskade noted, their company offered a suite associated with applications running on the OpenID process, which provides a standard for identity authorization/authentication services.

A client business would use the suite to enable interpersonal sign-ons between sites, such as utilizing your Facebook login across websites and managing user identity. However, many of the needed components — remarkably, the user interface — had to be produced by the client company and hosted for the client’ s own on-premises or even cloud server.

At this point, he said, the new Identity Main is updated to the newer OpenID Connect 1 . 0 protocol, and offers pre-made customizable interfaces that Janrain hosts. A client company only must host some software library parts on its end, but doesn’ t need to develop or sponsor any applications or interfaces. The whole Janrain identity management solution is available nowadays in the cloud via an API.

Designed to range.   Marketers can set up the identity management solution throughout many sites or mobile apps “ in minutes, instead of weeks, ” Kaskade said, without any software growth or hosting.

Whilst Janrain’ s Customer Identity Entry Management (CIAM) competitors are also helping the newest OpenID protocol in their identification management solutions, he said that these people still require client companies to create and host some of their own parts, such as interfaces.

The newest platform is the latest step in Janrain’ s centralization drive, which included the particular company’ s release last year associated with centralized policy access control with regard to identity management.

Why this matters to entrepreneurs. Given the importance of first-party data, ad targeting and consumer privacy, identity management has become a good intrinsic — but complicated — part of the marketer’ s toolkit.

Such issues as protection, streamlined consent management and government regulations are some of the drivers at the rear of Janrain’ s full hosted alternative. Because of these reasons, it will not be surprising to find out other platforms soon offer a comparable, fully cloud-based offering, which could assist marketers meet the growing set of specifications for maintaining customer identities.
