Search engines issues updated GDPR guidance in order to publishers on how to gain consent through users

Google provides updated its cookie guidance reference, CookieChoices ,   to include new tips plus suggestions to advertisers and web publishers in advance of the May 25 deadline day for enforcement of the General Information Protection Regulation ( GDPR ). GDPR is really a sweeping set of rules governing the particular handling of European Union (EU) members’ personal data. The updates stick to March AdWords blog post that said these types of changes would be coming.

The CookieChoices site launched within 2014.   Its GDPR up-dates include a link to its EU consumer consent policy, sample consent updates and third-party consent tools just for publishers to use on their own sites.   The updated site also allows publishers know that if they serve advertisements through Google, they will need to get extra consent. If you use labels for advertising products like AdWords or even DoubleClick Campaign Manager on your webpages, you’ ll need to obtain permission from your EEA users to conform to Google’ s user consent plan. Our policy requires consent pertaining to cookies that are used for measurement reasons and consent for the use of personal information for personalised ads — for example if you have remarketing tags on your web pages.
