Almost 8 weeks after the launch of the General Information Privacy Regulation ( GDPR ), nearly three-quarters of US and European companies state they will be compliant by year’ t end — but only twenty percent believe they are now.
So says “ GDPR Compliance Status ” (free, registration required), a brand new report based on a survey associated with 600 IT and legal professionals (equally distributed between the US, the UK as well as the EU) released this week by San Francisco-based data privacy management company TrustArc and conducted last 30 days by market research firm Dimension Analysis.
Fifty-three percent state they are in the process of implementing the particular regulation, which regulates how businesses must handle personal data associated with European Union (EU) citizens. Many complying companies are applying GDPR practices to any or all of their customers and visitors.
